What to Expect at
Your First Visit

Knowing what to expect makes a dental visit infinitely less daunting. Here's exactly what happens when you come in to see us for the first time.

Before You Arrive

Book an appointment online in advance or call us at 416 466 8270. If you have recent X-rays from a previous dentist, we'll also have you sign a release of records form to help arrange the transfer of your X-rays and ensure the continuity of your care. 

 

We also offer direct billing to insurance and accept CDCP coverage, so sharing your coverage details in advance means everything is set up and ready on the day of your visit.

Comprehensive Assessment

Your first appointment is a comprehensive treatment planning visit. We will review your health history, conduct a detailed clinical examination of your teeth, gums, bite, TMJ joints and oral tissues, and take digital X-rays where clinically indicated.

Your Treatment Plan

We will walk you through our findings in plain, clear language — explaining what we found, outlining your options, and working with you to build a plan that fits your health goals and schedule.

Ongoing Care

For most patients, we recommend a return visit every six months for a professional exam and cleaning. For patients with specific needs or a history of gum disease, we'll build a schedule that's right for your situation. Nitrous oxide sedation is always available for patients who'd find it helpful.
